my uncle, simon, is a prolific, imaginative and brilliant artist.

i wanted to give my aunt and uncle a surprise gift for their 50th wedding anniversary (afterall, i had been their cutie pie flower girl!!!). i wondered what to do to signify their remarkable achievement (sticking together all those years .. yike .. lol).

The family...

the light bulb went off in my head, i guess you could say. i proceeded to ask for copies of some of his colorful art work. a few months later, i surprised them with a duplication of his creativity (the ‘sj’  is my imitation of his actual signature) which i did in embroidery.

it was utterly wonderful to see their reaction which was very very touching for me.

a couple of years later, i realized my adoration of this family and since one of his pieces of art was caricatures of his nuclear family … i just had to ‘cast on’ for that image. again, they were shocked and thrilled.

i hope you enjoy seeing a picture of my works.

Hello Diane,

Simon finally took photos of your beautiful needle work which we so enjoy. Needless to say that we show it off to our kids, our grandkids and all our friends and they all agree that you are extremely talented…and extremely patient!

SO KEEP IT UP.

Love,
Auntie Cecile
