Ajwain Tea

My friend, Jasdeep, made an unusual cup pf tea for me when I was at her place. She had added an herb called ‘ajwain’, which looks a bit like celery seed, with a faint taste of thyme. It has several healing properties, but the one I’ve noticed is that it has cleared up my sinuses. So I’ve copied my recipe, below…

Bring to boil:

6 c. water
6 green cardamom pods
4 whole cloves
1-1/2 ” cinnamon stick
1/2 t. grated ginger
1 tsp. ajwain

Reduce and let simmer 5 minutes, then add 3 teabags and turn off the heat. When the tea has steeped, strain off into a pitcher and sweeten to taste.

It may taste a little different, but for colds and indigestion, it’s great!
